01

Challenge

At this size every millimetre is packaging. The vehicle had to feel safe and considered rather than improvised, while keeping the footprint that makes it useful in a city.

02

User and product research

Urban use patterns — parking, short trips, loading and getting in and out in tight spaces — set the proportions and the opening strategy.

03

Industrial design

A soft, continuous body with a high glass canopy that lifts clear of the door aperture; details are kept quiet so the vehicle reads as friendly rather than novelty.

04

Human factors

Ingress with the canopy raised, seated visibility and reach to controls were validated on a full-scale occupant package.

05

Prototype and testing

Scale and full-size studies checked the canopy sweep, sill height and stance before surfaces were frozen.

06

Final solution

A production-directed exterior design and CMF package for a compact urban EV.
