A deployable communications node for IAI ELTA, where the enclosure had to dissipate heat passively, protect the connector face and remain unambiguous to install.

Challenge
Antennas, sealed connectors and a passive thermal path all competed for the same surfaces, while the unit still had to mount quickly and survive handling in the field.
User and product research
Installation and maintenance sequences were mapped to determine which faces must stay clear, which must stay accessible, and how the unit is carried before it is mounted.
Industrial design
A faceted housing integrates the heatsink fins into the exterior language; the connector face is recessed and shielded, and status labelling sits where an installer reads it.

Human factors
Connector order, labelling legibility and mounting orientation were arranged so the node can be installed correctly without consulting a manual.
Prototype and testing
Printed housings verified antenna clearance, cable exit angles and mounting bracket engagement before tooling.
Final solution
A deployable node with an integrated thermal exterior, protected interfaces and a clear installation logic.
